Can't sleep? Insomnia? How Yoga Nidra could help..

Yoga Nidra is an ancient relaxation technique designed to bring awareness to the entire body.

Often termed 'yogic sleep', this practice invites you to settle on your back in savasana, bringing a gentle attention to induce a deep surrender to stillness and calm. It's like a guided meditation journeying around your body on the floor, really helpful for landing in your body and noticing any tension areas that may be affecting your ability to fully relax! 

This is a beneficial practice for sleep, as it activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of you that rests and digests the day, helping to restore the body. Not only can this help with bringing you into a state of sleep, it can also improve the quality, making your sleeps deeper and more rejuvenating. You can do yoga nidra at any time of the day for this benefit, but if you struggle to fall asleep, then we would recommend trying before bed! :-)

It's totally OK to drift off and fall asleep to this meditation, or receive the benefits consciously and then allow them to sink you into a deep sleep. Simply lie yourself down on your mat or in your bed, make sure you've got some cushions and blankets for extra comfort, cover your eyes with a weighted eye pillow if you wish, hit play, breathe in and enjoy the sweet sweet guidance from this lovely practice.
